Saltillo- Shiral Jean Hines Mallette, age 69, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Shiral was born November 30, 1953, in Cleveland, Mississippi, to James Howard Ash and Nell Jean Gable Ash. Shiral was a seamstress at Richie Manufacturing for 20 years and Lucky Star Manufacturing for 11 years before opening up Bates and Trade Grocery. She retired after 15 years owning and operating her store. Growing up she attended Church of God with her family. She enjoyed riding back roads, strumming the guitar, and singing.
Shiral leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Harvey Mallette of Saltillo; six children, Christy Hines (Wayne) Michael Mallette, Jamie Hines, Davey Hines, Harvey Mallette, Jr., and Sandra Mallette, all of Saltillo; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Pat Waddle of Saltillo, Angie Davis of Pontotoc, and Carolyn Ash of Tennessee.
Shiral was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Harold Ash.
Visitation will be 3 until 6 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring Shiral’s life will be 12 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues, with Wayne Brown officiating. Graveside services will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dillon Gilmore, Dalton Mallette, Zack Mallette, Will Snipes, Thomas Mallette, and Dwayne Dickerson.
