ROY MANN



Tupelo - Roy Franklin Mann, Lee County native, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born July 29, 1933, to Alonzo and Dovie Mae Malone Mann. He attended Itawamba Junior College. MSgt. Roy Mann, Retired, served his country for 26 years during which he served in the Army, Navy and Air Force Reserve. While in the Navy, Roy was on the Tarawa and USS Coral Sea air craft carrier. In 1952 Roy married Gladys Parmer. Roy worked at Day-Brite for 41 years and retired as an inspector in 2002. He enjoyed listening to Gospel quartets and was a member of Priceville Baptist Church.



Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Gladys P. Mann of Tupelo; children, Labrenda Coleman (Danny) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Roy F. "Len" Mann, Jr. (Claire Leigh) of Tupelo; brother, Tommy Mann (Patricia) of Saltillo; grandchildren, Brent Coleman (Whitney) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Seth Coleman (Britan) of Martin, Tennessee, Sara Depew (Dan) of Memphis, Tennessee, Marci Pruzina (Kyle) of Memphis, Tennessee, Jacob Mann and Amber Mann of Tupelo and seven great-grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Verna Mae Webb, brothers, Willie Edward "Buddy" and J.C. Mann.



Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.



Services with military honors will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Andy Dozier and Rev. Wexford Parmer officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.



Pallbearers will be his nephews.
