Rev. Don McCain

Tupelo—Rev. Donald Ray McCain passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was 76 years old. He was born September 3, 1946 in Greenville to Paul B. and Janie Keyes Ray McCain. Rev. McCain was educated at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned his Masters in Religious Education and Master of Divinity in International Church Planting. After teaching school for a while, he and his wife, Rose Marie, were called to serve as missionaries in Portugal where they lived until returning to Tupelo in 2008. He was currently a member of First Baptist Church, Tupelo. A man of many gifts and talents, Rev. McCain truly loved sharing these gifts with others. He was a talented artist, specializing in water color and woodworking. He also served on many construction projects that benefited area mission projects or those in need. His greatest joy came from sharing his faith in Christ with those he met each day.
Rev. McCain leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Rose Marie McGarrh McCain; two daughters, Keyesy McCain Logan and husband, Chad, of Minden, Louisiana and Amy Boone McCain White and husband, Thomas, of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Rebekah Rose, KY, Sarah Ann, Naomi, and Hannah Boone; a sister, Marie McCain and a sister-in-law, Stevie McCain, both of Moss Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Dave McCain; and his sister, Julie.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Tupelo with Dr. Matt Buckle and Rev. Matt Powell officiating.
